Policy Committee
The Board of Trustees approved changes to the following policies:
JECE – Student Withdrawal From School – the changes were to reflect the new legislation which included the new student compulsory attendance until age 18.
JFCB – Care of School Property by Students – the wording was clarified and a statement was added indicating parents of students who intentionally or through negligence will be held liable along with their child.
Policy JED – Student Absences and Excuses and Policy JEFB – Religious Guidance Programs were archived as they are no longer applicable or have been covered in other policy areas.

Policies EBBC, JE, JECA, JECC, JFCA, JFCD, JFCG, JFE and JHCC were reaffirmed by the Trustees with minor word or formatting changes.

Finance Committee
First Reading was given to By-Law #1-2012 for $509,100.00 to be borrowed as an ongoing part of the MBCI renovation.  The committee chairperson reported that the Division budget is in good order and in line with expected expenditures.  The public have been invited to review the 2012-2013 budget requests at 7:00pm, Wednesday, January 25th, at the MBCI Library.

Career Trek
Selected students from Grade 5 and 6 will be participating in Career Trek, a career exploration program for young people.  This program is run on two Saturdays at the UCN The Pas campus. Kelsey School Division will have forty students involved in two sessions.
Students from surrounding communities will also be participating.
